This song is about tilling the earth inside your head.

Michael James played the guitar solo. Actually, he played two different solos. He loved the first one. I, well, didn't love it and insisted he had a better guitar solo in him. He did and the second solo is what you hear on this song. That didn't stop Michael from making a mix for himself with both solos in a version of the song he called Long Garden Guitar Wank by the band Venereal.

Down the garden path
Snakes lie in the grass
The dogs of misery
Barking up the wrong tree

Without great pretense
You are my last defense
To save me from the rats
Who sneak behind my naked back

You plant the seeds in the fields of my fertile mind
You pull the weeds from the dirt that I left behind
You mine the gold from the depths of my buried heart
You heal the wounds in my dreams that were blown apart
